Our client, a household name and leading Governmental agency in the UK needed help cutting their operational costs. By the first half of 2022 we helped them cut costs by £21.M, and £3.5M by the end of 2023.
The Aircraft Carrier Alliance is a partnership of BAE Systems, Babcock International, Thales Group and the Ministry of Defence (which acts as both partner and client), together with Rosyth Dockyard, to build the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy. We staffed the capacity and resource management department for the EFW subproject. With our help, we helped them develop their capacity planning and ultimately optimised their ERP by 40%.
Our nuclear decommissioning client needed help driving improvements and cost controls whilst enhancing their international delivery capabilities and reputation. We helped them reduce their end-end process time by 63%.
The Ananda Project located along the Lake Tanganyika in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Project area is an agricultural area and recently has seen interest in mining gold by the locals. The proposed $500M Project consists of developing agriculture in the area and exploring the existing open pits, as well as the development of a new open pit. Other key features will include waste rock dumps (WRD), Run-of-Mine (ROM) pads, a heap leach facility and associated processing plant infrastructure as well as the necessary supporting mining infrastructure. Graceville Consulting put together the feasibility study, technical evaluation and the procurement and supply chain management strategy.
The Cenovus Energy Inc. (“Cenovus”) is a Canadian-based integrated energy company. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and with their Atlantic Region operations managed from their offices in St. John’s Newfoundland. In support of the White Rose Development Project, Cenovus contracted the Harland and Wolff (“H&W”) shipyard in Belfast Northern Ireland to provide a dry dock facility and undertake the £61M SeaRose FPSO Life Extension Dry-dock (LED). Graceville consulting was responsible for Development, deployment, collation, execution and production of status reports and KPIs measurements utilising various dashboards to meet the requirements of the client and internal and external stakeholders.
Graceville Consulting assisted with procurement and supply chain for the 82,000 expected participants at the religious event. We helped construct supply chains and built eco-systems that aligned with our clients’ vision, strategy, objective. Graceville assisted with making robust decisions, based on our global team’s insight and intelligence and global and local market analysis. A Balanced Scorecard methodology was applied linking supply-chain requirements and measurements to the client’s sustainability strategy.
London Underground Fleet Overhaul Train Maintenance programme (FHO) is a formation of projects previously undertaken within business as usual (BAU) activities with the objective to deliver the London mayor’s manifesto commitment of reducing service delays across all London underground trains by 30%.Graceville Consulting was engaged to provide Program Recovery services to get the program back on track. While the initial engagement was initially focused on program recovery, the team prioritized not only getting to green but understanding the root cause of the issues at play. Through a program diagnostic, the team found that the department was not making good use of capabilities available in the wider organization. Business processes were broken, people did not have the right capabilities, and core governance was not strong enough. The team lacked the ability to use existing data to drive effective decision-making.
Graceville consulting pivoted to driving a Transformation Program, implementing a new target operating model (TOM) which embraced innovative technologies that facilitated enhanced decision making.
Utilizing a highly tailored approach, the team designed a transformation program that utilized best practices from Managing Successful Programs, Lean Innovation, Business Agility, Data to Decisions, and core Change Management.
The resulting target operating model addressed:
- people-focused capability enhancements and upskilling
- new and improved governance structures
- redefined operating processes
- enhanced technology solutions
- increased usage of data, data synthesis, and strategy focused insights, and
- reinvigorated partnering arrangements to foster increased knowledge sharing.
A second key area addressed was around Resource Management. Historic systems were not trusted by the client, they were considered unreliable and convoluted. A capacity and demand management solution were required to achieve higher predictability of resource needs for present & future projects.
The Graceville team developed a solution that provided improved clarity by harnessing real-time, accurate project information that gave the client a better understanding of the work that could be achieved each week by their teams, but it also delivered long-term cost savings in the mid-6-figure range over the historic tool.
